Welcome Speech
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
On behalf of organizing committee, it is my great pleasure to welcome you to Bali for International Ophthalmology Symposium (IOS) 2023.
We are pleased and excited to announce that we are back for our very first international in-person meeting since the pandemic hit three years ago. This conference will be held in Nusa Dua, Bali for two days on March 18-19th, 2023.
After two consecutive successes on previous IOS-Bali conferences – this year, we bring around the main theme of “Updates in Ocular Diagnostics and Surgery”. Pandemic has changed and shaped our life, including our medical practices, in way we never thought it was possible.
Despite limited circumstances, advances in medical technology and knowledge are unstoppable and rapidly developing. We figure it is now a perfect time to plan an intensive program curating various updates in ophthalmology fields, encompassing almost all subspecialties.
IOS-Bali 2023 will deliver robust scientific sessions inviting renowned international level speakers, as well as national speakers. The program committee also prepare Young Ophthalmologist session and residents discussion panel covering topics in cataract surgery.
We also provide great opportunity for educational and scientific exchange for academic and clinical researchers. We invite everyone, both national and international participants to submit their scientific abstracts under our main theme. Photography submission and competition is also open for participants who wish to expand their hobbies and interests outside medical field.
As you might already know, Bali is a home of fantastic scenery and lovely hospitality for travelers. We are a culmination point of enough peace and tranquility, as well as diverse tourism hustle bustle. Indonesia’s travel border has officially re-opened since 2022 and Bali is more than ready to welcome all guest, speakers, participants, sponsors, and colleagues with an open heart.
Once again, on behalf of the organizing committee, we look forward to seeing you all in Bali this March.
Committee Chairperson,
I Wayan Gede Jayanegara, MD
